The Discipline of Repetition
September 28, 2026

Repetition is the only doorway through which conscious intent dissolves into muscle memory.
Early morning rhythm in the studio, where the identical stroke repeated a thousand times ceases to be labor and becomes meditation.
There is a profound mercy in doing the exact same thing for six consecutive hours. Sanding the curvature of a cast bronze armature does not allow for intellectual posturing. Your palms grow warm, the grit changes from coarse sixty to velvet four-hundred, and the mind ceases its chatter. In an era obsessed with novelty and instant velocity, the studio remains a sanctuary of slow iteration. The tenth pass reveals a hollow that the eye missed; the fiftieth pass smooths a transition until light glides over the metal without snagging.
